Mountaineering in the Sahara

It was 1935 when Roger Frison-Roche, an Alpine guide from Chamonix, reached the heart of the Hoggar mountains with Captain Raymond Coche, and presented mountaineers with a wonderful new dream: Saharan mountaineering. It’s true, the Saharan Desert is also made up of magnificent mountainous massifs and stupendous faces.
Lonely mountaineering in an unusual environment for climbing, where the combination of mountain and desert produces extraordinary emotions, with the possibility of planning the re-conquest of traditional routes and of exploring new ones.
